Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Stevenage

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work within a lovely school in Stevenage. As an HLTA, you will play a crucial role in supporting teaching and learning across various curriculum areas within the school. Working closely with teaching staff, you will lead small groups, deliver pre-planned lessons, and provide targeted interventions to support students' progress and attainment. Additionally, you will assist in the planning, preparation, and assessment of learning activities, ensuring they are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with the school's curriculum objectives.

HLTA responsibilities:

  • Lead small group interventions to support students' learning and development.
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons under the guidance of teaching staff, ensuring the effective delivery of curriculum content.
  • Provide individualized support to students with additional needs, including SEN and EAL learners, to facilitate their inclusion and progress.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and assessment of learning activities, adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to academic and personal growth.
  • Support the school's safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the welfare and safety of all students at all times.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience working in a similar role within a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of primary curriculum frameworks and teaching strategies.
  • Ability to effectively engage and motivate students, fostering a love for learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Adaptability and resilience to respond to the varying needs and challenges of working in a primary school environment.
