We are seeking a passionate and qualified History Teacher to join our secondary school in Maidenhead. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who wishes to inspire young minds and contribute to a school that offers a rich curriculum and excellent professional development opportunities.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Teach history to pupils aged 11-18, adhering to the national curriculum and preparing them for GCSE and A-level exams.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cover a range of historical topics and periods, enhancing pupils’ knowledge, skills, and understanding.
  • Utilise diverse teaching methods and resources, including textbooks, documentaries, artefacts, field trips, and online platforms.
  • Assess and monitor pupils’ progress, providing regular feedback and support.
  • Contribute to the development of the history department and engage in cross-curricular projects and initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Recognised teaching qualification and QTS, with a degree in history or a related subject.
  • Thorough knowledge of the history curriculum and current educational trends.
  • Experience teaching history at the secondary level and preparing pupils for GCSE and A-level exams.
  • Ability to use historical sources and evidence effectively and critically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering positive relationships with pupils, staff, and external partners.
  • Strong organisational and classroom management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
