We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Histopathology Consultant to join our team. As a Histopathology Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert diagnostic services and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art laboratory and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform accurate and timely histopathological examinations of tissue samples obtained from patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
  • Interpret microscopic findings, histological patterns, and cellular abnormalities to diagnose various diseases, including cancers, inflammatory conditions, and infectious diseases.
  • Provide diagnostic opinions and clinical recommendations based on histopathological findings to guide patient management and treatment planning.
  • Liaise with clinicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to discuss diagnostic results, patient histories, and treatment options.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review complex cases, discuss treatment strategies, and formulate patient management plans.
  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, including histopathology trainees, laboratory technicians, and pathology assistants.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, quality assurance protocols, and laboratory accreditation requirements in histopathology practice.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new laboratory techniques, procedures, and protocols to improve diagnostic accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements:
  • Medical degree from a recognized institution and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) or equivalent qualification in histopathology.
  • Substantial experience in diagnostic histopathology practice, including interpretation of complex histological specimens.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in supervising and training junior medical staff and laboratory personnel.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping abreast of advancements in histopathology practice.
