Job Description: Colchester Hospital is currently seeking a Histopathology Consultant to join our team for a period of 6 months, with an immediate start date. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a reputable healthcare organization, providing expert reporting on general histopathology cases. Responsibilities: 1. Reporting on general histopathology cases, including but not limited to surgical specimens, biopsies, and cytology samples. 2. Providing accurate and timely diagnostic reports to aid in patient management and treatment planning. 3. Collaborating with other members of the histopathology team, including biomedical scientists and histopathology trainees, to ensure high-quality patient care. 4. Ensuring compliance with relevant protocols, guidelines, and quality assurance standards. 5. Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to clinical discussions as required. 6. Maintaining accurate records of diagnostic findings and completing administrative tasks associated with reporting. 7. Demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of advances in the field of histopathology. Requirements: 1. Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Histopathology. 2. Extensive experience in histopathology reporting, with a focus on general histopathology cases. 3. Excellent diagnostic skills and the ability to provide accurate and clinically relevant reports. 4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. 5. Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and maintaining professional standards. 6. Flexibility to work within core hours between 8am and 5pm, with some flexibility as required.
