We are looking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our Student Support Team here at Shelley College. Our aim as a college is to help young people to be happy and successful in their time with us and and to achieve their personal best. We believe success means students achieve their personal best in a variety of areas: academic study, appreciation of and participation in culturally enriching activities, relationships with other people, tolerance and celebration of others, healthy lifestyles, taking responsibility, physical activities and development of skills for the future. We want our students to lead rich and rewarding lives.

This role is designed to help achieve these goals by supporting students who have significant gaps in their learning, and to work effectively with others to create a safe, happy and positive climate where success is celebrated and all students are helped to achieve their personal best.

We offer an excellent salary package, which generously rewards high performance; a supportive working environment; excellent support and training and employee benefits including an attractive pension scheme, an Employee Wellbeing Scheme and Share Academy Savers.

The School

Shelley College is an outstanding school, with exceptional staff and students. We believe in helping staff and students achieve their personal best and are keen to recruit the very best talent to our school.

As a National Support School and National Teaching School, we are at the centre of a network that aims to provide the very best professional and career development opportunities. We are also at the centre of an emerging academy chain of secondary and primary schools that share our values and want the very best for their students and staff. Whatever your role or whatever your career plans, we can help you achieve them.

Added to that, we possibly have the best rural location of any secondary school in the country, close enough to the cities of Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield for many of our staff to travel from these areas. Our staff are friendly and supportive of each other and there is a strong sense of a committed team working together.

The Trust

SHARE Multi Academy Trust currently consists of Shelley College, Thornhill Community Academy, Whitcliffe Mount School, Royds Hall Community School, Heaton Avenue Primary School, Luck Lane Primary School, Millbridge Primary School and Woodside Green Primary School with a view to continue to expand.

Our aims

We want to create a mutually supportive family of schools because we believe that, by sharing our expertise and resources, we can improve the quality of education for our children and young people.

Our values

Our central belief is "Valuing People, Supporting Personal Best" and we apply this to everybody in our organisation, staff and children alike. We aim to treat everybody with respect and build positive relationships with each other and we want everybody working in our schools to do the very best they can. We support each other and celebrate our successes together.
