Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Location: Templecombe

Contract Type: Full-time

Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality teaching and learning activities
  • Lead and deliver lessons under the guidance of the class teacher
  • Work with individuals and small groups to provide targeted support and intervention
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and assessment of lessons and learning materials
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Implement behavior management strategies and promote positive student engagement
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students with additional needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure effective support for students

Requirements:

  • Recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent
  • Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
  • Sound knowledge of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to lead and deliver lessons independently, adapting to the needs of the students
  • A positive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Desirable

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Additional qualifications or training in areas such as Special Educational Needs (SEN), behaviour management, or phonics instruction
  • Experience with assessment and tracking of student progress
  • Knowledge of specific interventions and strategies to support students with diverse needs
