Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students who need additional support? We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a newly opening Intervention Centre in the Stoke-on-Trent area.
Position Details:

  • Role: Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
  • Location: Stoke-on-Trent
  • Contract Type: Fixed-term, Term Time only
  • Salary: £30,296 per annum actual salary
  • Hours: 37 hours per week


About the Intervention Centre: The Intervention Centre is dedicated to providing short-term, targeted support for students who face challenges accessing the mainstream curriculum. With a maximum of 15 students at any given time, we offer a personalised 5-week intervention program designed to equip them with essential skills before reintegrating them into a mainstream school environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering academic curriculum content with a strong emphasis on (PHSE).
  • Implementing strategies to help students better cope with lessons and thrive in their learning journey.
  • Collaborating with a team of dedicated professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting interventions as needed.


Requirements:

  • Prior Experience: Candidates must have experience working as a Teaching Assistant (TA/SEN/1:1/Tutor, Cover Supervisor, LSA)
  • SEND Knowledge: Familiarity with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is essential.
  • Passion: A genuine desire to support students and contribute to their success.


Additional Information:

  • The program will be accessed by three schools in the Stoke-on-Trent area.
  • Initially, the program will pilot for 1-2 years, with continued funding based on successful student reintegration into mainstream schools.
  • Staff will commence their roles in April 2024.
  • Interviews will be conducted on the 8th April 2024, with virtual meetings held with leadership prior to this date.
