English Teaching Assistant Specialist - Manchester

We are working with a 'Good' secondary school in Manchester, who are looking to secure the services of an experienced, dedicated English Teaching Assistant Specialist to join them ASAP. This role is to support students that are struggling with their English work.

This is a school that the students feel safe in and happy to attend, with a strong sense of pride in their own school. The leaders' expectations for behaviour are high but these high expectations are matched by the students. The students are punctual and show enthusiasm when it comes to their education. There are also chances to get involved in other activities outside of the classroom: range of sports, drama clubs and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

You will be required to support students struggling in the English department in lesson or by supporting in a separate environment with small groups.

This post is to start ASAP and will initially be on a temporary basis but will become permanent for the right person.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Location - Manchester
  • Position - English Teaching Assistant
  • Type of work - Teaching Support
  • Start date - ASAP
  • Contract type - Temp to perm.
  • Full time
  • Minimum rate of pay - £95 per day.
  • Hours - 8:30 am - 4 pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High qualification in a key subject (English)
  • Recent experience working with secondary aged pupils.
  • Previous experience of working with young people with SEN (which we can reference)
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide training)
  • Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential we can provide training)
  • Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however training can be provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional children related references
