Job Opportunity: HGV Technician/Mechanic (Night Shift)

Location: Stonehouse

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 06:00 pm - 06:00 am

Employment Type: Permanent

Salary: £38,000 - £45,000

Job Purpose:

The primary role of the HGV Technician/Mechanic (Night Shift) is to support the Transport Workshop by completing a high standard of repair on a variety of specialist commercial vehicles, including bin lorries, skip lorries, trailers, and tippers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct 6-weekly inspections to a high standard, ensuring identification and repair of all defects, with a focus on achieving a 'first-time fix'.
• Inspect and prepare vehicles for MOT, ensuring they exceed the required standard.
• Diagnose faults in vehicles and ancillary equipment.
• Perform electrical repairs on a range of specialist commercial vehicles.
• Repair 'damage' defects to uphold our brand image.

Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

• NVQ Level 3 qualification related to commercial vehicle repairs (Desirable).
• Minimum of 3 years working in a commercial vehicle environment (Essential).
