The workshop on Thirsk is a clean and modern facility that offers mechanics the ability to work on a variety of vehicles. Due to the nature of the role you will receive brilliant training which will enable you to learn new skills such as fixing pumps, extendable ladders, pneumatics and electrics. They have a relaxed working environment where mechanics can focus on doing quality work as opposed to rushing to get things fixed.

There is plenty of opportunity for candidate to increase there earnings through overtime which is paid at time and a half and double time on Sundays. For example if you were to continue working to 4 o'clock on Fridays you will earn an extra £3456 a year.

In this role you will work Monday to Friday 8:00- 16:00 with a 13:00 finish on a Friday. You will carry out service and breakdown repair on a variety of emergency vehicles and associated equipment. Full training will be provided.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a HGV mechanic but they will also consider candidate who have a background in lighter vehicles such as 3.5 tone as they offer brilliant training.

The role:

*Monday to Friday
*Days based role, 37 hours a week
*Basic salary + Guaranteed on call + Overtime =Average earnings of £40000k +
*8:00-16:40 Monday to Thursday- 8:00-13:00- 8:00-13:00 on Fridays
*Full training provided
*Varied role with travel to other depots
*Working on fire engines and associated vehicles.
*Overtime paid at time and a half and double time.

The person:

*Have experience as a HGV mechanic or a mechanic that's works on vehicles over 3.5 tonnes.
*Be commutable to Thirsk
