HGV Driver and Operative - Environmental Services

Location: Base is Droitwich, Worcestershire (must be available to stay away from home and travel across the UK)

Salary: £25-32,000 plus overtime (approximately an addition £10k-15k per year) + great training and career opportunities

Role Overview:

As an HGV driver and operative, you will play a crucial role in reducing pollution and promoting sustainability for our clients. Working closely with a driver's mate, you'll engage in cleanup and operational activities across various sites. This includes high-pressure water jetting, spill/fly-tip cleanup, risk assessment (RAMS) completion, and assistance with civil, construction, and industrial services work. Additionally, you'll perform basic fabrication and welding tasks, support storage/fuel tank installations and inspections, and assist with groundworks, decommissioning, and site repair.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate HGV and any other company vehicles qualified to operate to conduct cleanup and operational tasks.
  • Perform high-pressure water jetting and cleanup of spills/fly tips.
  • Complete risk assessments (RAMS) and support civil, construction, and industrial services work.
  • Engage in basic fabrication, welding, and installation/inspection of storage/fuel tanks.
  • Assist with groundworks, decommissioning, and site repair activities.

Requirements:

  • HGV, CE licence is essential
  • Previous experience in a related industry or environment (e.g., highways, drainage, vacuum excavation, spill cleanup, emergency response).
  • Familiarity with completing RAMS documentation is preferred.
  • Driven with a passion for learning and adapting to new opportunities.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and responding to emergency situations.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including travel, extended stays, and shift work.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to work away from home when necessary.
  • Right to work in the UK is essential.
