Health & Safety Officer – Nottingham
A fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Officer has opened up! A national leading Fire Safety specialist is looking for a skilled individual to take charge of the Health, Safety, and Environmental aspects within the region. This position will involve monitoring compliance HSE legislations and you will act as the safety champion across the region. This is a permanent position and will involve travelling around various sites as well as working from the office.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance, support and training to all members of the team
  • Ensure H&S compliance across all contact sites
  • To keep business informed of any new legislation, identify gaps and implement actions to ensure conformity
  • Weekly/Monthly site visits to conduct SHARP assessment and submit audit reports
  • Through auditing, identify and develop continuous improvement
  • Consult and implement safe working practices with employees, visitors and sub-contractors
  • Produce documentation inclusive of Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work
  • Manage the development of safe working processes, policies and procedures
  • Implement, embed, policies, procedures & training programs in accordance with HSWA 1974
  • Liaise with external agencies and regulatory agencies
Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar position within construction
  • Working knowledge of the ISO 9001,14001 and 45001 management systems
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent HSE qualification)
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and supporting regulations
  • Relevant driving licence
