Health & Safety Manager

This is a newly-created position, where the successful candidate will be responsible for drawing up procedures, monitoring HS&E across multiple UK sites, and become the 'go-to' person in the business for all HS&E requirements.
Key responsibilities are:
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures across all sites.
- Review and implement emergency planning & evacuation procedures.
- Provide health and safety advice and guidance to all levels of the business.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans including COSHH assessments.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training programs & assist in staff inductions.
- Chair environmental & sustainability group meetings.
- Organise & prepare OHAS assessments working with the team to ensure corrective action is taken place.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Monitor and review health and safety performance metrics.
- Keep up to date with relevant health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
- Work with external agencies and stakeholders on health and safety issues.
- Lead health and safety committees and other relevant forums
- Work with team to conduct regular internal audits to ensure we are working to compliance standards.
- Lead compliance audits and work with stakeholders on corrective actions.
- Experienced HS&E professional with relevant NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent).
- Experienced in implementing HS&E processes in a manufacturing environment would be preferred.
- Extensive working knowledge of health & safety at work regulations.
- Excellent overall communication skills.
- UK driving license, happy to commute to other business locations as required.
- Knowledge of OHAS procedures desirable.
- Able to work independently, but as part of a team.
- Very good general IT skills (MS Office).
