Health Safety Coordinator
- Part-time (32 hours per week)

- Salary: £28,000-£35,000 pa
We are seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator to ensure our School’s premises, including the main site, sports field, and residential houses, are well-managed, safe, and secure. This role is ideal for an organised, forward-thinking, and adaptable individual with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
Day to Day of the role:- Formulate, implement, and monitor the school’s Health and Safety legal requirements.
- Coordinate and assist staff in implementing the Health and Safety policy and programme.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, inspections, and departmental reviews.
- Draft and update policies and procedures.
- Manage accident reports using the EVOLVE system and arrange RIDDOR reporting.
- Investigate reported accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Maintain information on hazardous substances and manage Health & Safety training records.
- Lead the Health & Safety Committee, arrange meetings, and manage actions.
- Organise fire evacuation and critical incident drills.
- Oversee water and legionella risk assessments and manage actions.
- Liaise with external Risk Managers and produce an annual Health & Safety report.
- Manage tender selection and contractors for Health & Safety related works.
- Support staff in carrying out their Health & Safety duties.
- Ensure compliance with Independent Schools Standards Regulations.
- NEBOSH qualification, preferably obtained within the last 3 years.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience managing Health & Safety and Fire Safety compliance on a large estate or school site.
- Proven track record in project management and working with diverse teams.
- Experience in tendering services.
- Excellent decision-making based on thorough data analysis.
