Part Time 3 days per week £24,000 plus benefits
Our busy client is seeking to recruit a reliable, hardworking Health & Safety and Compliance Officer, with strong attention to detail, on a part time basis.
Working with the management team, across the 2 sites (Norfolk and Cambridgeshire) the successful candidate will help to continue to drive the Health & Safety culture and development throughout the business. In addition, the role will involve assisting the company with its compliance with ISO 9001 and 14001, along with other compliance matters.
This role will suit an inquisitive, self-motivated, problem solver who enjoys identifying ways to improve processes and systems. You should be confident working with standards and regulations, and have the ability to respond to changes.
Key Responsibilities for the Health & Safety Compliance Officer:
- Lead all Health & Safety activities across the 2 sites
- Lead compliance activities across both sites
- Working with all areas of the business, to maintain ISO and other external standards
- Further develop and maintain accurate Health & Safety records
- Conduct Risk assessments and audits
- Develop and implement H&S policies
- Investigate accidents and incidents
- Liaise / co-ordinate with external Compliance auditors as needed
- Oversee some fire safety aspects
- Perform regular safety inspections
- Generate detailed reports on safety performance
- Provide appropriate H&S training to all staff
- Provide appropriate Compliance training for relevant staff, as needed
- Make recommendations for improvements
Essential Criteriafor the Health & Safety Compliance Officer
- You must own your own vehicle, due to the required travel between the sites, and hold a clean UK driving licence (all travel between the sites will be reimbursed).
- NEBOSH (General Certificate)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a Health and Safety role
- Experience working with ISO quality systems
- You will have the ability to communicate and engage with all levels of personnel
- Understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Risk Assessments (RAs)
- Good computer skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
