The Opportunity:

Are you dedicated to fostering a culture of safety in the workplace? We are searching for a seasoned Health and Safety Manager to implement and monitor robust health and safety programmes, policies and procedures within a leading machinery dealership. Working from our clients office in Essex, you will report directly to the Chairman and be responsible for the management of the health and safety across the branches. Your expertise and knowledge will play a crucial role in securing a compliant and safe work environment across the business.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to safe working practises and reinforce the company's safety policy, procedure and guidelines

  • To oversee and manage the emergency response plans and procedures, conducting regular drills to test the effectiveness of the protocols

  • To develop and deliver health and safety training programmes for employees to enhance awareness

  • To conduct regular health and safety inspections and audits in compliance with industry requirements

  • To lead and investigate all accidents, submitting accurate records to authorities and the wider business when required

  • To foster a positive health and safety culture within the business, empowering Branch Managers to administer and manage these aspects within their own branch

Skills you will need:
Essential:

  • A qualification in Health and Safety (diploma or above)

  • Proven experience of fostering a positive Health and Safety culture within a business

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • An excellent relationship builder, with the ability to work collaboratively across the business

  • A confident decision maker, who can identify and suggest improvements for the business

  • A team player with a friendly and approachable manner

  • A practical and logical approach to problem solving

  • Dedicated to keeping up to date on industry best practice, ensuring a proactive safety culture

  • Proficient in IT; Microsoft office packages and web applications

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and or experience of the agriculture sector

  • Knowledge of the Explosives Regulations and associated Health and Safety procedures
