Empowering Learning are supporting an independent provider of specialist education, who support children and young people aged 7 to 19 years with neurodiverse learning needs. They are seeking to appoint a Headteacher on a permanent basis within one of their schools based in West London from September 2024 start on a permanent basis. (A minimum of 12 months fixed term contract will also be considered).

You will be able to provide effective leadership, coaching and direction to a multi-disciplinary team delivering sector leading specialist therapeutic education, as well as promote the organisation's values, model high expectations and ensure staff deliver high quality teaching, inclusivity, positive behaviours for learning, social, emotional & independence skills development, within a safe school community. You will lead your staff team to provide all opportunities possible to allow all pupils to thrive, gain qualifications and become successful independent adults and leaders.

As the new Headteacher, you will oversee holistic child focussed solutions, ensuring strong senior management and accountability, so that all staff, pupils and parents/carers have the right resources, knowledge and skills to ensure effective pupil progress, a passion for life-long learning and career development, with the skills to positively influence our community and society.

KEY REQUIREMENTS / KEY EXPERIENCE:

  1. Resilient and robust, role modelling outstanding teaching and professionalism.
  2. Substantial Headship experience within specialist therapeutic education provisions or specialist schools, managing multi-disciplinary teams of educators, clinicians and social workers.
  3. Proven experience of positive performance management & developing teams, inclusive of coaching and influencing staff to deliver innovative ways of working and teaching.
  4. Proven skills in operating at a strategic level as a collaborative and supportive member of a senior team, actively engaging in decision making leading to positive pupil progress and business outcomes.
  5. Experience of driving inclusive education initiatives to support best practice with vulnerable and complex groups.
  6. Proven skills in coaching & mentoring.
  7. Commercially astute and solutions focused.
  8. Proactive and innovative, collaborating with team members in other disciplines, whilst also with the ability to work flexibly and independently.

Salary offered: £73,500 - £80,500 (Dependent on experience)
