Head of UK subsidiary office - Fragrance x AI business
An innovative company which specialises in advanced science and technology is currently looking for a Head of UK in their Fragrance Business Unit for the UK subsidiary.
They have almost 130 employees in offices across Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Japan, and the UK. The UK subsidiary is mainly focused on bridging the startup ecosystem between Europe, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
As the Head of their UK subsidiary, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of
their operations in the region. This includes developing and executing strategic plans to drive
growth, managing day-to-day operations, building and leading a high-performing team to
drive expansion in the UK market and into Europe such as France. You will also be actively
involved in business development, sales, and marketing activities to expand the customer
base and increase brand awareness.
The ideal candidate should have business level of English and French.
Understanding of Japanese culture and intermediate Japanese skill will be advantageous.
TYPE: Permanent, full-time
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday 9:00-17:30
SALARY: £70-100K depending on experience

Main Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute strategic plans to drive growth and achieve business objectives in the UK market
• Manage all aspects of the UK subsidiary, including operations, sales, marketing, and finance
• Build and lead a high-performing team, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure success
• Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and industry partners
• Drive business development initiatives to expand our customer base and identify new opportunities for growth
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify threats and opportunities for the business
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including health and safety, environmental, and legal requirements
Ideal Candidate:
• Fluent French and English, and/or intermediate Japanese is preferred but not a must
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proven track record of building businesses and projects from scratch
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience and knowledge such as:
- in the fragrance industry in roles such as perfumist, R&D, sales, or marketing
- in sales or product development in services utilizing IT or applications
- in supply chain management for importing and distributing Japanese products into the UK and Europe
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively
• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute plans to achieve business objectives
• Proven ability to drive sales and marketing initiatives to increase revenue and market share
