Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people? Do you have solid experience of operational development and management in emotional wellbeing and mental health services? Do you have a background in health, mental health, social work, or youth work?

TPP are recruiting a Head of Therapeutic Services and Advice on behalf of our client, well established charity whose mission is to provide a safe home, increase life skills and self-confidence, and improve emotional wellbeing and mental health to young people.

The Role:

As the Head of Therapeutic Services and Advice, you will be responsible for commissioned community counselling and specialist information, advice and support services. You will also promote earlier intervention to prevent crisis. This role will contribute to the development of effective working relationships with a range of statutory and third sector stakeholders to shape the delivery of local mental health and emotional wellbeing pathways.

Main responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of the strategy for emotional wellbeing and mental health services.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality information, advice, and therapeutic services that support positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Develop strong network and relationships.
  • Identify new leads and business opportunities to expand reach and profile within the community.
  • Represent the organisation in key networks and partnership events.
  • Contribute to the leadership and operational development.
  • Provide high-quality line management support to the team.
  • Actively promote a culture of inclusivity.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience in operational development and management in emotional wellbeing and mental health services.
  • Knowledge of psychologically informed environments and trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience of grant/contract management and negotiation.
  • Senior leadership experience, particularly in managing change and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to make decisions in line with organisational needs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results.
  • Ability to manage settings for children and young people with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and digital skills.
