NET Recruit are partnering with a highly successful business, in the financial services sector, who are searching for a Head of Tax to join their team located in the Greater Bournemouth area. With several decades of experience and ongoing success under their belt, this excellent business are continually expanding their team and offerings, meaning that they are keen to keep their key corporate functions operating with the very best professionals in the market to ensure the business is operating as effectively as possible.

This role will join the extensive tax team to oversee all matters relating to direct and indirect tax, managing key internal and external relationships with stakeholders and acting as a subject matter expert for all things tax - providing information to inform important business decision making and resolve any occurring issues, as well as providing strategic support to ensure the business is in the best position it can be in relation to tax.

Role and Responsibilities
While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Taking responsibility for all direct and indirect tax processes, including overseeing all operational taxes which may include RTI on pension benefit payments and PRAS recoveries
  • Positively managing the relationships with HMRC to ensure communication is open and strong
  • Proactively seeking solutions to minimising the businesses' tax costs
  • Having responsibility for corporation tax compliance, reporting and planning processes, ensuring that the business meets all regulatory requirements by negotiating agreements for liabilities with HMRC
  • Acting as the subject matter expert for tax within the business, providing key advice and answering queries on any issues that may occur and supporting business decision making
  • Overseeing the introduction of new changes in tax legislation across the business, assessing their impact and minimising the risk to the business
  • Representing the business at selected external committees and groups in relation to tax matters
  • Monitoring and managing tax risks appropriately
  • Mentoring team members to achieve team goals, supporting their learning needs and ensuring they motivated

What You Will Need To Apply:
The business is seeking applications from experienced ACCA, ACA or CTA qualified accountants with significant post-qualified experience in tax and with excellent exposure to the 'life' financial services sector. Applicants should possess excellent technical tax knowledge, specifically with life insurance taxation and have previously worked on best practice activities and strategies across the business. You will need exquisite communication skills, particularly within liaising with tax authorities and with non-tax professionals. 

What You Will Get In Return:
The successful candidate within this position can expect to gain a salary in the region of £130,000 depending on previous experience and technical knowledge, and this will also be supplemented by a generous remuneration package including various insurance covers, medical provisions, additional monetary rewards and other employee incentives and schemes. This is a very appealing overall package, significantly increasing the value of the base salary.
