Head of Sustainability

Proximity Recruitment are searching for a talented Head of Sustainability (£70,000 + Car + Benefits) to join a global building materials business in the West Midlands.

The role is a new position that spearheads this global firm’s sustainability agenda & owns the UK & Ireland strategy.

The position benefits from hybrid working; typically, 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home.

Responsibilities include:

• Work closely with Marketing & operations unit team to ensure maximises the value of its sustainability programme to key account customers.
• Manage Sustainability Manager & to ensure all products have Environmental performance declarations, sustainability standards & accreditation are met as well as data reporting for sustainability report.
• Develop an outstanding understanding of the sustainability needs of targeted key customers & based on that, deliver powerful sustainability propositions to prove value to their business.
• Work with key customers & suppliers & coordinated Group and divisional sustainability initiatives activities.
• Design & deliver individualised sustainability propositions for customer base.
• Co-create & deliver organisation processes such that all salespeople can present powerfully on the benefits of the sustainability programme.
• Respond to briefs to develop sustainability strategies throughout the business, providing assets, toolkits and materials for regional teams where relevant.
• Actively embed, a data driven, test & learn approach to inform & enhance marketing propositions.
• Manage vendors & third parties to support delivery of marketing activities.
• Manage a Sustainability Manager.

The successful candidate would be owning, developing & growing the sustainability team for a global firm, engaging with schemes, joining committees, presenting at industry events & analysing the market to become & remain best in class.
