The Head of Sectors is a key senior role within MSC’s Go to Market team. You will be responsible for our national approach to sectors and will play an important part in achieving stronger alignment between stream and sector activities. You will work closely with the Sector Heads, the Head of Go to Market and fellow Heads of Marketing within Streams and Regions and you will manage a team of sector-focused marketing and BD professionals..

You will provide best practice across our issues-led approach as well as insight and challenge to deliver successful, integrated BD & Marketing across all of our sectors nationally. You'll ensure that effort is not duplicated and is always focused on the most effective outcome.

This role would suit a senior strategic marketer with demonstrable experience in shaping client-centric marketing strategies, particularly for large-scale programmes built on content, insight and thought leadership involving diverse stakeholder groups.

The role is a full time, national role, based in London for a 12 month FTC. There may be a need to travel to offices throughout the UK.

You'll also:

  • Understand changing market dynamics across different industries and how they impact stream and sector plans.
  • Track and analyse sector trends and key issues to help the firm anticipate market needs, identify opportunities which support the firm’s growth ambitions and improve ROI.
  • Use data-based decision making. Embrace and lead on use of data and insights including CMS, client care, KAM and market research. Actively use market insight and pipeline data to inform business decisions and track performance.
  • Maintain a 'helicopter view’ across all of our sectors and facilitate joining the dots between business areas.
  • Develop and co-ordinate ideas, plans and activities that connect multiple sectors around key issues and opportunities. Collaborate with peers in streams and regions and the Head of Go to Market to align issues and activity and lead and drive centralised, integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Undertake regular detailed analysis and report clearly on ROI on all marketing and BD activity including traffic, MQLs, conversion rates and pipeline growth.
  • Take the lead on overall sector budgeting and monitor monthly sector marketing finance drills, working closely with the Head of Go to Market.
  • Support KAM accounts and client conversations from a sector perspective.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on competition, marketing and communications issues, trends and long-term implications for BDO within the market.
  • Manage all MSC reporting requirements for sectors including reporting value-add activity back to the firm.
  • Ensure sectors representation internally across the firm through channels such as The Sector Connector.
  • Proactively recruit, retain, develop and engage talent across the sectors team and wider MSC in line with our people proposition.
  • Enable and demonstrate innovative thinking and inspire innovative action; leverage communications to inspire others.
  • Build strong relationships and work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders across sectors and beyond to ensure there is buy in and understanding about future marketing campaigns.

You’ll be someone with:

  • Strong BD and marketing experience, including leading teams to successfully deliver integrated BD and Marketing strategies and understands the dynamics of the professional services market.
  • A deep understanding of the market and business challenges within professional services
  • A proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with others in a dynamic environment, including the ability to 'bring others on the journey’.
  • Excellent communication skills and gravitas with senior stakeholders.
  • The ability to lead through change.
  • Demonstrable agility in delivering complex plans across a matrix structure
