Head of Sales - Dorset

Based on their manufacturing site and head office in Poole, our firmly established SME Client is seeking a Head of Sales to support their continued growth of their globally positioned, designed, manufactured and distributed advanced professional audio and acoustic products.

With a focus on managing the sales process and activities as well as further developing their international markets through direct sales, OE client engagement and distribution, the role will be responsible for:

-    Managing sales forecasting and planning, sales processes and maintaining high levels of quality, accuracy and process consistency.

-    Establishing sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for all sales activities across all regions and services.

-    Meeting and exceeding the Sales plan objectives.

-    Continue to develop a high performing sales team through leadership, leading by example, achieving overall sales targets and objectives.

-    Managing performance of the sales team to ensure consistency across all sales activities and contribute to the overall business objectives.

-    Ensure that the company's processes and procedures are always followed.

-    Achieve the above through inspirational leadership, mentoring and coaching.

-    Contribute to strengthening the competitive advantage through methodical market/competitor analysis and creative market positioning.

-    Creating strong relationships with key client stakeholders at both senior and mid-management levels.

-    Establishing and managing a professional and robust metrics-based sales reporting system to help the Senior Management Team gain clarity and insight into the on-going performance of the sales function.

-    Maximising new business development opportunities.

-    Work with the board of directors to develop the sales strategy for the company.

-    Continuously develop both national and international distribution networks.

Cross-functional responsibilities:

-    To be a key member of the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the MD.

-    Work with the Operations and delivery teams effectively to build a robust collaborative culture.

-    Having the desire to own projects and exceed expectations, with ability to find solutions and deliver results.

-    Having the ability to identify and solve customer issues strategically.

-    Being able to analyse pipeline and lead data, deliver periodic reporting to the sales teams providing key business insights: typical reporting relates to Demand Generation, Pipeline Forecast and Trends, Conversion Rates, Target Account, Win/Loss ratios etc..

-    Report on key KPIs related to leads and the opportunities in order to implement a consistent closed loop between marketing and sales.

-    Validate the quality of the lead and pipeline data and provide guidance to improve the overall data quality.

-    Monitor the quality of market and sales information and define data improvement programmes.

Experience and qualifications:

-    Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams. 

-    Proven experience in a senior sales role.

-    Excellent customer service skills.

-    Outstanding persuasion, presentation, and negotiation skills.

-    Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate people.

-    Management experience, including ability to manage multiple projects and achieve sales quotas.

-    Knowledge of competitor research and market trend analysis.

-    Ability to show customers and other client stakeholders the company's value proposition.

-    Qualified to degree level or equivalent.

-    An understanding of professional audio systems would be beneficial, but not necessarily essential.

This is a senior, strategic and active role and is therefore supported by an excellent salary level and package. Some UK and international travel will be required.  This role is office based.
