Job Title: Head of Safeguarding, Quality & Practice
Contract Type: 3-month Contract
Location:Rotherham
Pay Rate: £670/day (Hybrid)
Role Overview: As the Head of Safeguarding, Quality & Practice, you will lead and oversee the effective and efficient operation of safeguarding, quality, and practice services within Rotherham. Your role will encompass partnership working, quality assurance, and performance improvement, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level advice, guidance, and support in safeguarding and related areas, influencing community trust and confidence in the Council's activities.
- Develop comprehensive strategies to support internal management, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and priorities.
- Establish a customer-focused service delivery approach, responsive to internal stakeholders' diverse needs and consistently delivered to high standards.
- Set clear service delivery objectives, manage associated risks, and drive implementation through performance-managed action plans.
- Manage and develop a team of specialist professionals and associated support staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Navigate political pressures and agendas impacting service delivery, while maintaining governance standards and appropriately challenging where necessary.
Requirements:
- Substantial management experience in safeguarding or related fields, including policy development, strategic planning, and change management.
- Proficiently manage budgets within a comparable organisation, prioritising competing demands within financial constraints.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and partners, fostering collaborative relationships to achieve shared objectives.
- Experience in implementing performance management and quality assurance processes to enhance service delivery standards.
- Possess a Level 7 qualification or equivalent expertise gained through extensive work experience in relevant specialist areas.
- Ability to make informed decisions on complex issues, considering multiple perspectives and managing uncertainty effectively.
