Job Opportunity: Head of Safeguarding and SENCO
Position: Head of Safeguarding and SENCO
Location: High School, Sefton, Merseyside, United Kingdom
Salary: L6 - L10 (£53,380 - £58,959) (Attractive Salary for suitably qualified and experienced candidate)
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible
Role Overview: The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Team and school leaders to provide high-quality SEND provision. As the Head of Safeguarding and SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in engaging, enabling, and empowering our students to reach their individual potential. You will collaborate with colleagues across the Trust to ensure outstanding support for students with special educational needs and disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the SEND provision, ensuring effective support for students.
  • Oversee safeguarding procedures, working closely with the designated safeguarding leads.
  • Collaborate with school leaders to develop and implement strategies for student well-being and inclusion.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on SEND and safeguarding matters.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and best practice.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience in a leadership role within SEND or safeguarding.
  • Passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
