Head of Risk and Compliance - Legal

Reed are working with their client, an established Legal firm who are looking to recruit a Head of Risk and Compliance. The main purpose of the role is to ensure the firm is compliant and in line with the SRA regulatory requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Develop and implement risk management and compliance policies and procedures.

• Provide guidance on regulatory and compliance matters to partners and staff.

• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with SRA and other statutory requirements.

• Lead training and development initiatives to raise awareness and understanding of compliance issues within the firm.

• Act as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors.

• Monitor and report on compliance issues to the firm’s management and suggest improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a similar risk and compliance leadership role, ideally within the legal sector.

• In-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment governing law firms, including SRA requirements.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive a compliance culture.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels within the firm.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and managing risks.

• Relevant legal, compliance, or risk management qualifications.
