About the role

As the Head of Payroll Assistance Service you'll be leading a team to deliver the services and drive the development of new payroll assistance offerings. The types of services delivered include short-term emergency support for team absences, advice and guidance surgeries, implementation team supplementation, contingency support, annual event services, and payroll process and system reviews.

The Zellis Payroll Assistance Service provides our customers with experts can step-in at short notice to support on highly specific tasks and issues, minimising disruption to day-to-day payroll operations.

You'll need to be extremely credible with customers and have a strong payroll delivery history to understand the needs of customers and develop new payroll assistance offerings. As well as this, you'll need to bring gravitas and a pragmatic and can-do approach to deliver the services and support customers through their challenges, becoming their trusted partner. You'll have close working relationships with Commercial, Implementation, Technology and Managed Services teams internally.

In this role your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, developing and growing the service line.
  • Readily embracing new product features and the opportunity this presents to deliver additional services to customers.
  • Leading on post-project reviews and implementing lessons learnt in other engagements.
  • Taking accountability for chargeability performance of the service and capacity planning.
  • Continuing to build the skills and expertise of the team.
  • Owning the delivery of each project in line with expected outcomes, bringing accountability for customer satisfaction, customer benefits and quality KPI achievement, and delivering in line with target margins.

Skills & experience

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to develop robust and enduring relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the internal and/or customer business.
  • Strong payroll delivery history and expertise.
  • Knowledge of Zellis HCM Cloud would be a benefit.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively at all levels. Will have the gravitas, passion, and knowledge to be credible in all business situations.
  • Excellent people management and ability to lead the current highly skilled and motivated team.
