On behalf of my client, I am recruiting for a Head of Marketing and Communications within the education sector.

Salary: Circa £35,500 per annum

Type: Permanent, Full-time or Part-time

Location: Norwich

The Role

As the Head of Marketing and Communications, you will:

  • oversee the provision of marketing and communications services.
  • Represent and support the department on complex issues.
  • Develop and position the brand to enhance market presence and reputation.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and optimisation of marketing campaigns to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Utilize physical and digital channels (social media, email marketing, posters) to maximize visibility for relevant campaigns and events.
  • Manage media relations, press releases, and PR initiatives to enhance the organization’s public image.
  • Provide relevant and in-depth insights related to campaigns and events.
  • Oversee the development of compelling content for various channels (websites, blogs, social media).
  • Monitor and analyse marketing performance metrics to optimise campaigns and strategies continuously.

Essential Knowledge and skills

  • Proven leadership in a multi-stakeholder organisation.
  • Understanding of financial management, including basic budget formulation, planning, and oversight.
  • Experience in supporting teams to engage with key stakeholders and influential networks.
  • Working knowledge of marketing strategies and communication channels.
  • Educated to degree level (in a relevant field) or equivalent level of relevant experience for the role, within a Marketing and Communications setting.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to execute departmental strategic initiatives effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, adept at engaging with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external
  • Capability to author strategic reports aligned with departmental objectives.
  • Conduct relevant research to inform decisions within the department.
