We are Head of Innovation for a fixed-term opportunity, offering a hybrid work model at either our Nottingham or Coventry office locations. This role is a 6 month fixed term contract and includes a car allowance.

Here's what you'll be doing

Join us at E.ON as our Head of Innovation and embark on an exhilarating journey to redefine the energy landscape in the UK. You will spearhead our mission to revolutionize the industry by expanding E.ON’s U.K. innovation ecosystem. As the founding leader of a new U.K. innovation team, you will ignite creativity across our organization, catalysing transformative projects that shape the future of energy. Your expertise will build a culture of innovation, giving our colleagues the skills and mindset to pioneer ground-breaking solutions. You will use your broad experience to put in place the foundations for breakthrough innovation and growth. You will inspire action, encouraging every part of our business to embrace innovation. Your collaborative approach will ensure that you apply the full capability of E.ON’s wider international innovation community to the U.K. market. By fostering strategic partnerships and leveraging external insights, you will ensure that E.ON remains at the forefront of innovation, constantly evolving to meet the challenges of tomorrow. What we need from you

  • Experience leading an innovation team or clear transferable skills
  • Experience of the end-to-end innovation process, including idea generation, incubation and scaling
  • Knowledge and application of innovation techniques and concepts
  • Experience of business model development
  • Strong customer, commercial, financial, and entrepreneurial acumen - leading the development of business plans and investment cases
  • Strong analytical (qualitative and quantitative), critical thinking, and conceptualisation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills & stakeholder management - building deep relationships and networks, with ability to influence people at all levels
  • Ability to mobilise and lead cross-functional teams including where they do not have direct authority, collaborating effectively
  • Degree level education, preferably in a numerate discipline

If would also be good if you had:

  • MBA or other relevant postgraduate or professional qualifications.
  • Start-up experience
  • Experience of the innovation function in a large corporate
  • Strong and relevant external networks
