Our client is a hugely successful, complex organisation with headquarters in Newcastle upon Tyne. A market leader in their field, the business has an exciting vision and strategy for growth and continues to expand its operations nationwide.

To support this continued success and growth, an excellent opportunity has arisen for the appointment of an experienced senior HR practitioner. The role of Head of HR will work alongside senior key stakeholders to increase overall business capability and performance to meet the organisation’s strategic objectives. The post holder will embed, deliver and strengthen a full range of people solutions across the full remit of business activity. The role reports into the Chief People Officer and will be responsible for leading the HR team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Act as a strategic Business Partner with key stakeholder to develop and deliver the People Agenda.
  • Be the strategic and operational lead on the full range of people solutions including: Culture; Resourcing and Talent; Employee Relations; Learning and Development; ED&I; Performance Management; HR Digitialisation; and Reward.
  • Support the CPO in the empowerment of managers and leaders in the business to increase overall business capability and performance.
  • Lead the development of strategic workforce planning and align structures to support the business growth strategy.
  • Work closely with the CPO in the design and development of the HR function to evolve ways of working, increase capability and overall efficiency.
  • Develop and lead a team of proactive HR professionals.
  • Provide strategic direction and influence business thinking on all people related projects and initiatives.
  • Embed and further develop the culture and values across the organisation as it grows.
  • Produce high quality management information to support the Executive Team in strategic decision making.

Successful applicants will:

  • Be a credible HR leader and be able to successfully influence across all stakeholder levels including Executive Committee and Senior Leadership Teams.
  • Have deep expertise in strategic HR and business transformation gained from within fast-paced and commercial environments.
  • Have a track record in developing team members and empowering staff.
  • Have straightforward communication skills with an ability to win and influence people in a positive manner.
  • Be an HR innovator.
  • Have exceptional commercial acumen and knowledge of the latest HR trends and best practices.
  • Be professionally qualified to CIPD level or equivalent.
