Eutopia Search is delighted to be supporting a leading employer in Milton Keynes in their search for a Head of Group Payroll.

As the Head of Group Payroll, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic direction, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance within the payroll function. You will lead a team responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Define and execute the strategic direction of the group payroll process, collaborating closely with HR teams and other functions.
  • Lead and inspire the payroll team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Implement robust controls and risk management measures to ensure compliance with payroll and tax laws.
  • Conduct audits of payroll transactions to ensure accuracy in payments, including PAYE, pensions, and other benefits.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular reports on payroll performance measures.
  • Manage payments to employees and third parties, including HMRC, with precision and timeliness.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external partners such as HMRC, payroll software providers, and tax advisors.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including Group tax, HR, and Finance across all business units.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Expert knowledge of payroll processes, tax laws, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a talent for motivating and developing high-performing teams.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
