A rare opportunity has arisen at a University in Central Sheffield to join them as Head of Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • This role is responsible for all aspects of financial accounting, including preparation of the Annual Report and Financial Statements, treasury management and taxation.
  • You will work with stakeholders across the University to provide expert advice and ensure compliance with internal and external financial regulations, as well as being the lead contact for external stakeholders such as external audit, banks and HMRC.
  • Reporting to the Director of Finance, you lead the Financial Reporting and Compliance team and have responsibility for the Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger functions.

The team is responsible for statutory financial reporting, the integrity of financial transactions, financial compliance, external regulatory compliance and treasury management.

We are looking for;

  • ACA/ACCA Qualified with a strong technical background
  • Experience of working in a senior management role within the finance team of a complex organisation
  • Significant experience of preparing statutory financial accounts
  • Experience of leading on the external audit process
  • Experience of leading on providing highly technical, expert advice and guidance to senior managers and internal / external stakeholders
