Head of Financial Control

We are looking for a Senior Manager/Director from Audit or a Senior Group/Financial Reporting professional in industry, to join a Global Advertising and Public Relations firm as a Head of Financial Control. Paying £120k and based in Central London (Hybrid Working). This role will manage a large team of onshore and offshore accountants and you will work closely with the Commercial Finance Directors and Finance Leadership team.

The Role

• Coordinate and review the monthly balance sheet queries for corporate reporting and submit responses within deadline. Manage promptly any additional balance sheet follow-up questions received.
• Challenge the Commercial Finance teams on their balance sheet position and trends: ensure accounting across all lines is in line with US GAAP, local GAAP (for stats) and company policy.
• Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the financial accountants and the shared service centre (SSC).
• Responsible for ensuring all capital items including fixed assets and transitions are recorded correctly in the various reporting systems and meet the appropriate criteria for recognition.
• Liaise with Group and internal and external audit on any technical accounting areas and changes in Group policies.
• Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts.
• Assist with any adjustments between Group and statutory reporting.

Your Profile

• You will need to be a fully qualified accountant.
• All applicants must have originally trained in Audit (Top 6 or Big 4).
• All applicants must either be a Senior Manager or Director from the top 6 or Big 4, or a Senior Financial Reporting professional in industry within a large, listed business.
• Knowledge of IFRS and strong technical experience is a prerequisite.
