An established Local authority based in West Yorkshire are looking to appoint an Interim Head of Finance to the team on an initial 6 month basis and have partnered with Castlefield Recruitment to recruit the position.

The role will work closely with the Senior Finance team within the authority. My client are an industry recognised employer who require an experienced local authority account who possesses a technical skillset.

Role:

  • To provide pivotal support to the authorities senior financial management team
  • To liaise with the external auditors and ensure essential timescales are met
  • To complete government returns and claims, and review working papers for external audit
  • Provide accurate financial management updates and liaise with senior management
  • Implementation of changes to statement of accounts and working papers where appropriate

Person:

  • You will possess a professional Accountancy Qualification (CIPFA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Advanced IT skills comprising Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint and SAP or equivalent
  • You will have experience working within a local authority
  • You will possess a technical skillset
