Resourcery Group is currently seeking a highly experienced Head of Finance to join a reputable Multi Academy Trust in Liverpool. As a key member of the Central Finance Team, the successful candidate will take a leading role in financial management, strategic planning, and operational efficiency across the trust. Collaborating closely with the Chief Finance and Operations Officer, the Head of Finance will be responsible for driving financial sustainability, innovation, and growth for the trust. This is a crucial position that will play a pivotal role in building and formulating financial strategies and cultivating a culture of excellence within the finance team to positively impact the organisation.

The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, exceptional communication skills, and a high level of technical ability. As Head of Finance, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing comprehensive financial strategies in collaboration with the CFOO to drive sustainability, innovation, and growth for the trust.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the finance team, streamlining day-to-day financial operations and month-end processes across the trust.
  • Providing strategic financial advice to key stakeholders, including the trust board and senior leadership, to support informed decision-making processes.
  • Conducting financial due diligence and overseeing the financial integration of new schools joining the trust, supporting its expansion plans.
  • Preparing consolidated management accounts, annual accounts, forecasts, and complex regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Ensuring strict financial governance by complying with the Academies Trust Handbook, the trust's policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Leading internal and external audits, implementing recommendations to strengthen financial controls, systems, and processes for optimal efficiency and value for money.

Ideally the sucessful candidate will have;

  • Porfessional Accountancy and Finance qualification- CIMA/ACA/ACCA/CIPFA
  • Previous experience of working in education
  • Excellent relationship bulding skills and strong cmmunication skills
  • Previously managed and led a team with the ability to inspire and lead by example
  • Dedicated to the continuous improvement
  • To want and desire to add value

  • Competitve salary £58,000-£63,000
