Head of Finance - 12 month FTC

Your new company
A large services business in Liverpool City Centre with a high-performing finance team.
Your new role
Reporting into the FD, you\'ll lead the business partnering and financial accounting teams, and work closely with the SLT and team of directors.

This is a 12-month FTC to cover a period of maternity leave. Job duties include:

• Full day to day management of the finance function, including financial planning, Shareholder and Board reporting, ensuring all key business information is complete, accurate and appropriately challenged.
• Compile Board and Shareholder reporting papers to an exceptional standard for review by the FD.
• Provide leadership across the finance team, ensuring the right skill sets and culture are in place.
• Proactively support the FD, whilst working in conjunction with both internal and external stakeholders to provide sound financial advice in respect of major business projects.
• Liaise effectively with key personnel across the Group Finance teams, ensuring that information shared with them is complete, accurate and to a high standard.
• Key point of contact across the Senior Leadership Team for all aspects of finance, providing challenge and guidance, whilst ensuring departmental strategies are aligned to the business objectives.
• Act as a financial conscious across the wider business, proactively involving self in all significant projects whilst challenging the business to seek efficient and appropriate practices that protect shareholder value and reputation.
• Work closely with the relevant external stakeholders to further enhance best practice and exert influence on policy as appropriate. Notably, this will include auditors, banks, client, and shareholder groups.
• Lead an efficient and effective external audit, whilst being the main point of contact for the Audit Partner and Senior Manager.
• Technical Accounting lead across the business, prepare the Financial Statements (including all disclosures) for submission to Companies House.
• Deputise for the FD as required, tasks may include presenting at Board meetings and attending/actively inputting into Director meetings.

What you\'ll need to succeed
An ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant and an experienced senior finance leader, having previously worked within large/complex organisations.
