Come aboard a distinguished legal practice nestled on the historic Mersey docks in Birkenhead, Wirral. We're on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Head of Department for the Conveyancing division. In this pivotal role, you will provide technical expertise, legal training, oversee complex matters, and lead the outstanding, well-established team. The ideal candidate must be either a licensed conveyancer or qualified solicitor.
Supervise a team while aligning with established quality and risk management systems, ensuring consistent communication and support from leadership. Proactivity, collaboration, and effective communication are crucial qualities for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision, advice, and guidance on technical and professional matters.
- Advocate for best practices and maintain case management standards by conducting regular file reviews and providing effective supervision.
- Foster relationships to support strategic growth objectives.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement business strategies aimed at expanding the Conveyancing department and revenue streams.
- Achieve individual and collective billing targets while maintaining key performance indicators.
- Generate and present insightful reports on case holdings, turnover, billing, and client satisfaction.
- Deliver legal and best practice training to team members and manage a repository of template documents.
- Contribute to the firm's Lexcel and CQS accreditation by adhering to quality standards.
- Conduct departmental reviews, performance appraisals, and identify training needs for continuous improvement.
