The Opportunity:
Nigel Wright Recruitment is delighted to have been appointed exclusively, to lead this search for a repeat client in the international medical education sector.  The Head of Commercial Events will lead a small team in arranging and executing a high profile, global events programme and the role will sit on the Company's senior leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO.  This is a hybrid position, with circa 3 days per week in the North East based headquarters.  International travel every couple of months will also form part of the role.

Role Profile:
  • Leading the events team, providing advice, guidance and ongoing coaching, to ensure consistent high quality events are deleivered.
  • Engaging regularly, with blue chip global commercial organisations, in the medical sector.  This includes an element of business development to gain buyin and to stimulate ideas for event content.
  • Ensuring the engagement and attendance at events, of high profile delegates from various international locations. 
  • Confirming and arranging high profile subject matter experts as speakers for events.
  • Overseeing the arrangement of all travel and logistics, on behalf of delegates and speakers.
  • International venue sourcing, confirmation and end to end liaison.
  • International travel to coordinate smooth event execution.  Will involve some on stage speaking to delegates.
  • The core aspects of gaining buyin and commitment from all stakeholders, requires subtlety and influencing on an ongoing basis.

Person Specification:
  • A sector background which provides an understanding of education metrics or learning outcomes would be advantageous.
  • Comfortable in front of an audience.
  • Exposure to engaging with both the public and private sector would be beneficial.
  • Able to commit to bi-monthly international travel.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • Natural influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commutable circa three days per week to the North East headquarters.
