Head of Art

An outstanding independent school based in the bustling town of Taunton is looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic Head of Art to lead the art and photography department from September 2024. You will be delivering high quality teaching and learning to students as well as being fully involved in the school community. This is an ideal opportunity for a teacher wishing to progress in their professional development with a passion for raising attainment and expectations. The Role

We are looking for a teacher who can share their expertise and love of their subject, and teach lessons which inspire and that pupils enjoy. The art department currently runs art and textiles GCSE, and art and photography A level. You will be planning, teaching and assessing students' work. Working and collaborating with the other member of staff within the department.

The school has a lively and friendly Common Room of over 50 full-time teachers, all of whom contribute to the school’s outstanding co-curricular programme of sport, music and many other activities. The ability to contribute to this programme would be a distinct advantage. All teachers also tutor a small number of pupils and undertake an evening duty in one of our boarding houses, the Sixth Form Centre or the library.
