Head of Adults Commissioning
Duration: 6 month contract initially pending further extensions
Rate: £600-650p/d (Inside IR35)
Start: March 2024

Our client is looking for an experienced Head of/Assistant Director of Adults Commissioning to join them on an interim basis for the next six months initially. Please see below for further details:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a leading role in supporting the development and implementation of strategic and tactical/operational commissioning arrangements
  • Support innovative and transformative approaches to integrated commissioning and lead on strategic commissioning as well as taking responsibility for transformation initiatives and performance
  • Lead a number of key strategic partnerships, developing new effective partnership and delivery models and the engagement of the public and patients in commissioning and co-production
  • Support the Director in delivering the strategic and statutory objectives

Requirements:

  • Experience of commissioning large scale contracts and services from service design stage through to full procurement
  • Experience in managing complex contract negotiations including where risks emerge, and working in partnership with providers to resolve issues
  • As well as being the Strategic Commissioner, other key areas of focus include developing and managing the directorate’s performance management framework and leading on our transformation strategy
  • Previous experience of working in a senior management role within Social Care or Health
  • To have an in-depth understanding of commissioning models that enable meaningful co-production with service users
  • Direct experience of working with suppliers and managing the commercial and quality assurance aspects of these partnerships
  • Be able to demonstrate how you have led change and improvement within your area of responsibility, paying particular attention to bringing about cultural change as well as operational improvements
