Job:             Handyperson 
Location:     Llanelli        
Duration:     2-3 months with permanent potential     
Hours:         35 per week (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm)      
Rate:           £16.06 - £20.02 per hour 
 
BRC are working with a charity in South Wales who are looking for a Handyperson to join them on a temporary contract basis to help with sickness cover. This role is to support the delivery of high-quality services to older or disabled people.  You will be responsible for visiting clients in their own home and completing a range of works to meet their needs. Most works will be a minor home repair or adaptation. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Small Ramps and Home Access
  • Keysafes
  • Minor carpentry works i.e. hanging Doors, replacing kitchen worktops
  • External and Internal Rails
  • Grabrails
  • Minor Plumbing Works i.e. changing taps
  • Construction of steps and minor repairs
  • Levelling Paths
  • Safety in the House i.e. changing locks, security work
  • DIY Type Jobs The ideal person will need to be proactive, flexible, self-motivated and committed to providing great customer service. 
 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Must be qualified in a skilled building trade and proven experience 
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of repair work covering a range of skills including carpentry and other building trades. 
  • Clear knowledge and understanding of health & safety requirements. 
  • Basic IT skills 
 
Additional Information:
  • Must have a full driving licence
  • Van provided and fuel card  
  • Tools provided
