Hours Monday to Friday 8am-5pm

We have a fantastic opportunity for a multi-skilled handyman to work at an iconic residential estate in East London. This is a temp to perm opportunity where you will work on a temporary basis for up to 8 weeks with the potential for a permanent offer.

You will be working with an incredible team where the culture is hands on, warm and with a real desire to make a difference.

The main area of this role is focused on redecoration so painting, filling of holes and wall repair however this role is multi-faceted.

This is a very varied role so experience in decorating, minor electrical and plumbing will be essential

Main duties will include:

  • Ensure health & safety regulation and safe working practices are in place, carrying out general maintenance inspections of all internal common areas, courtyards, plant rooms and building systems.
  • Undertake repair and reactive, planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) work, including when necessary problem diagnostics, of all building areas across the site
  • Walk areas of responsibility, identifying defects, trip hazards, damage, vandalism, unlawfully parked cars and to be generally aware of safety and security, reporting incidents to the Estate Manager
  • Be responsible for clear and safe pedestrian access to all site areas, particularly in adverse weather conditions i.e. clearing snow, gritting etc
  • To ensure all tools are maintained, kept secure and are only used by authorised personnel.
  • Inspect and maintain as necessary all exterior and interior doors, lubricate door hinges once a month and check functioning of locks and doors to ensure water does not pool and drains do not overfill.
  • Carry out redecoration works in the common parts including replacement of plasterboard and painting areas to a high standard.
  • To provide clear written remedial reports to Estate Manager.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork, either manually or electronically, is completed accurately and in a timely manner, to include work requests, stores requisitions and legislative or safety documentation.

You will be a hands on team player with a variety of skills ranging from minor electrical and plumbing eg sockets and taps as well as minor painting works and DIY skills. Redecoration is an essential skill so painting and wall filling.

You will also have a good knowledge of health and safety and good communication skills in dealing with residents and colleagues.

Permanent salary after 8 weeks of successful temping £25000 per annum
