Your role at a glance

We are currently recruiting a Guideline Management Control Coding Senior Analyst to join our team on a 12-month FTC basis.

The GMC Coding function is responsible for analysing source documents (such as IMAs, Prospectuses, Term Sheets etc.) before interpreting and capturing each client's requirements in a central database. Those requirements are then coded into LGIM's Global Trade compliance platform (provided by Charles River Development) where possible and, where not possible, off-platform controls are created instead.

The team are instrumental to LGIMs investment governance and oversight processes, and play a key role in defining firm wide data and coding standards, independent of geographic location and covering all investment strategies of LGIM and LGIMA.

What you'll be doing
  • Reviewing and approving the coding for Fund Launches and Amendments carried out by the analysts with the team, ensuring that all coding complies with defined quality control processes.
  • Being actively involved in the implementation and product launch process to capture data and coding requirements, providing feedback and challenging on guideline wording with the aim to achieve maximum coding coverage, therefore minimising risk inherent in taking on new business.
  • Ensuring that New Fund Launches and Amendments are completed within SLA's.
  • Taking the lead on the training and development of the administrators within the team.
  • Proactively developing and maintaining effective working relationships with the wider GMC teams and key stakeholders.
  • Co-ordinating with the CRD Technical Specialist on Coding specific requirements.
  • Developing, maintaining, enhancing and signing off existing processes ensuring sufficient testing is carried out.
  • Conducting a Bi-Annual review of mandate rules to ensure the control environment is robust.
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation on guideline restrictions and ensure these are reviewed periodically.
  • On-going maintenance and improvement of the Coding processes with a focus on standardisation and automation.
  • Reviewing and interpreting Investment Guidelines (Prospectuses, IMAs and other governing documents) ensuring these are captured and coded within Charles River.
  • Reviewing preliminary documentation, questioning and challenging contradictions or ambiguous restrictions with the relevant teams, working closely with teams responsible for monitoring restrictions which cannot be coded.
Qualifications
  • Experience using Charles River is highly sought after
  • An interest in Coding
  • Detailed knowledge of investment products
  • Understanding of Investment Strategies
  • Good knowledge of regulatory environments
  • Knowledge of OMS/EMS/CMS would be advantageous
  • Previous experience of working in asset management is essential.
