Group Reporting Manager

Gleeson Recruitment Group are seeking a talented Group Reporting Manager to work with one of our close clients in Birmingham. As the Group Reporting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting processes. You will be responsible for overseeing statutory accounts, VAT, tax compliance, and more.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory accounts in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Manage the VAT compliance process, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Lead the tax compliance function, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to tax regulations and optimise tax strategies.
• Coordinate the month-end and year-end financial close processes, including review and analysis of financial data.
• Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance function.
• Provide financial insights and analysis to senior management to support decision-making processes.
• Mentor and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Requirements:

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a large multinational organisation.
• Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP).
• Extensive experience in preparing statutory accounts, VAT returns, and tax compliance.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accountancy, or related field.
