As Managing Director, you will have the responsibility of guiding the financial and operational performance across the organisation's expansive activities & significant portfolio. You will leverage the assets of various projects to maximise returns, ensuring best practices are a hallmark of our operations. This role is not just about managing; it's about visionary leadership, driving the organisation towards unprecedented growth while nurturing a culture of innovation and high performance.

The Candidate.

  • Proven experience as a Group CEO or Managing Director with significant operational experience in a similar position/s
  • Seasoned executives with significant operational experience, ideally from finance, commercial, ports, construction, and/or real estate backgrounds.
  • Leaders capable of managing high-performance teams and driving innovation.
  • Strategic thinkers with a proven track record of delivering business growth and navigating complex negotiations.
  • Individuals with a keen sense of business acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster meaningful relationships across various stakeholders.
  • Candidates should hold a degree or equivalent, with relevant professional qualifications being a plus.
  • Proven experience of managing P&L and budgets
  • Be well organised and possess excellent presentation and communication skills, both written & oral.
  • Have strong proven leadership skills and be able to demonstrate team leadership, motivation, coaching and the day-to-day management of an experienced Senior Leadership Team, including performance reviews and staff appraisals.
  • Demonstrate responsibility for delivering on a business plan and its objectives including the management of resources and costs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Foster a dynamic management culture that encourages progress and expansion.
  • Develop and periodically update a strategic 10-year business plan, reflecting the changing industry dynamics.
  • Act as a central figure in both internal and external strategy communication, aligning efforts with our ambitious objectives.
  • Cultivate strong connections with clients to bolster our market stance.
  • Champion our sustainability endeavours, aiming for minimal environmental footprint.
  • Manage assets strategically to boost operational efficacy.
  • Innovate and implement IT solutions to sustain our competitive advantage.
  • Continually seek and evaluate commercial and strategic opportunities.
  • Regularly assess Senior Management's performance, fostering staff development and training.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Executive Chairman and oversee the production of essential reporting documents.
  • Guide the annual budgeting and strategic planning processes.
  • Advance research and development to maintain our industry-leading position, ensuring the adoption of cost-effective methods and cutting-edge services.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to the management team, aligning with the Executive Chairman’s vision and strategic direction.
