Group Financial Controller | £75,000 - £85,000 + LTIP | Preston | Private Equity Backed SME

Axon Moore has exclusively partnered with a new client in the Preston area to recruit a Group Financial Controller. This is a newly created role to assist the CFO with preparation for an exit within a 2-3 year window.

This business has been through an exciting period of growth and has outgrown it’s existing finance function. They’re in need of a talented GFC who can come in and build a finance function that is fit for purpose and who can support the CFO with a range of ad-hoc projects that will be pivotal to their exit.

The ideal candidate will be:
  • Practice trained (ACA/ACCA) or a technical CIMA with experience in private equity
  • Experience of team leadership
  • Ability to evaluate and fix legacy accounting issues including systems
  • Best practice experience with reporting for internal and external stakeholders including private equity investors
  • Improve the overall timeliness and accuracy of accounts and reporting
  • Ability to hire and build a strong finance team with capacity for growth
  • Projects experience including M&A would be highly desirable

This is a role with a high degree of autonomy but will be mentored by a leading CFO. It is an exceptional role for a candidate looking to progress their career towards becoming an FD in their own right.
