Job Role: Group Environmental Manager
Location: Leeds LS25
Shift: Monday - Friday 0800-1700
Salary: £50,000+ DOE

Metalis is working in partnership with a well-established waste company in Leeds who due to continuous growth are looking to hire a Group Environmental Manager.

Job Duties:

  • You will be required to integrate into our current team and manage day to day operations, site compliance, customer and Authority audits and support the groups other sites.

  • Understanding the site Permit and Licenses, to manage compliance and improvements.
  • One-to-one experience with the Environment Agency and DEFRA.
  • Leading on- and off-site Customer Duty of Care audits.
  • Design and deliver compliance training to the team and site staff.
  • Upkeep of the site's existing Management Systems, including Environmental, Odour and Fire Management.
  • Assess and improve compliance with BAT, PAS 100 and ISO 14001.
  • Reporting and record-keeping.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have or be happy to undertake COTC level 4 in organic treatment & COTC in Hazardous waste (preferred)
  • Experience with composting or anaerobic digestion. (preferred)
  • Experience with animal by-products regulations and DEFRA liaison. (preferred)
  • Experience in the waste processing sector and a keen interest in Organic waste processing. Project management/leadership.
  • Experience in/working knowledge of waste treatment.
  • Working knowledge of environmental Permitting requirements.
  • Team management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Problem-solving.
  • Research skills.
