Group Consolidation Accountant

This is a varied and demanding role – 10-month contract - working for a large organisation in which you will be working alongside all levels of stakeholders.  The main purpose of the role is to drive the best-in-class financial reporting and regulatory reporting frameworks. This opportunity will allow you to make a real impact on the way the business operates, driving both external finances and the relationship between Finance and the wider busines

Duties and responsibilities: 
  • Support and liaise with the external audit team at year end and half year end.
  • Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
  • Develop best practices and processes on all external reporting.
  • Provide ad-hoc technical finance advice to other areas of the business.
  • Management of various subsidiary companies – processing of journals and preparation of balance sheets reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting and preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Manage and participate in a number of ad hoc projects – liquidations, new company set-up, system and control review

Required Skills and Experience
  • Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent  
  • Strong technical background with experience of external financial reporting under IFRS including preparation of consolidated accounts.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills 
  • Experience of working in a large organisation that has complex reporting structures and can adapt to and contribute to consistent change.
