UKAEA’s pay arrangements and grading structure are currently under review as part of a transformation project and proposed multi-year pay deal. UKAEA aims to introduce a new grading structure in 2024. This will enable us to lead the delivery of sustainable fusion energy and maximise the scientific and economic benefit. This role currently requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions. It is expected in time that the requirement for this role will be upgraded to have SC Clearance.

The Audit Specialist role has a salary of £46,293 + excellent benefits including outstanding pension.

The Role

As the Group Audit Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the planning and implementation of the audit programme, including the development of the audit plan, co-ordination of audit resources, monitoring action completion and conducting audits.

You will be collaborating with the Group Head of Internal Audit and the Group Systems Audit Manager to drive the business in the development and promotion of a proactive culture for assurance.

This role will see you working on a broad array of Auditing functions, providing opportunities for growth in your professional career.

Additional Responsibilities:

- To co-ordinate the management systems and internal audit resources including ensuring appropriate competencies are maintained against an appropriate training matrix.
- Planning, conducting and delivering audit assignments as required.
- Managing the QPulse action tracking software and information added to QPulse, including the validation of audit actions prior to closing-out, ensuring it delivers an effective and efficient user experience.
- You will be supervising the timely close-out of audit actions, proactively engaging with stakeholders, validating data and submissions to close-out audit actions.
- Acting and deputising as the Group Systems Audit Manager when necessary.
- Liaising with the Head of Profession Quality to support maintenance of the site certification against ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
- Collaborating?with the Quality Manager and Head of Profession Quality to assist the roles to drive continuous improvement of the UKAEA Management System using feedback from the system audit programme.

Qualifications
Essential Requirements:

- Degree or higher degree.
- Highly developed organisational awareness, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate, influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Data analysis skills and highly IT numerate.
- Internal auditor qualification or working towards.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including SharePoint.
- It would be advantageous to have experience of financial auditing, but not essential.
- Power Platform experience desirable.
