Group Accountant – North London

Day Rate: £350 - £440 per day. Negotiable depending on experience.

Contract: Initial 3-month contract with a view to being extended

Work Schedule: Full time, Monday – Friday.

Spencer Clarke Group are assisting in the recruitment of a Group Accountant for a local authority In North London.

Our client would consider fully remote working however their preference would be for some onsite presence, this would be outlined at interview stage.

Role Brief:  As Group Accountant, you will be responsible for driving the annual budget cycle and providing high quality financial advice at all levels of operational decision making.

We are particularly interested in receiving applications from Finance professionals with a background in capital financing and accounting within a public sector setting.

To flourish in this role:

  • you will need to build relationships and understand the business need with broader financial objectives.
  • You will also manage a team of up to three accountants and two accounting assistants, supporting you in getting the job done.
  • You need to be CCAB qualified or have extensive accounting experience with a solid understanding of local government finance.
